The maximum operating temperature of the electric heating wire is the most important performance indicator in the selection process. The operating temperature of the electric heating wire refers to the surface temperature of the component body during operation, rather than the operating temperature that the electric heating equipment or the heated object can ultimately reach. When designing and selecting electric heating wires, the final heating temperature can be measured based on the electric heating equipment used or the object to be heated. For example, when electric heating wires are used for boiler heating, the difference between the furnace temperature and the operating temperature of the electric heating wire is about 100 degree . If the heating temperature of the electric heating wire exceeds the maximum operating temperature, the oxidation process itself will be accelerated, the heat resistance performance will be reduced, and the service life will be shortened. The diameter and thickness of the electric heating wire are parameters related to the maximum operating temperature. The larger the diameter of the electric heating wire, the easier it is to overcome the deformation problem at high temperatures and extend its service life. The electric heating wire should maintain a diameter of no less than 3mm and a flat strip thickness of no less than 2mm when operating below the maximum operating temperature.
The service life of electric heating wires is largely related to their diameter and thickness. When electric heating wires are used in high-temperature environments, a protective oxide film will form on the surface. After a period of time, the oxide film will age and form a cycle of continuous generation and destruction. This process is also the process of continuous consumption of internal elements in electric heating wires. Electric heating wires with larger diameter and thickness have more element content and longer service life. The electric heating wire itself has a certain degree of corrosion resistance, but in high-temperature environments, the corrosion resistance of the electric heating wire will decrease. At the same time, when the electric heating wire operates in a corrosive atmosphere, the maximum operating temperature will also be affected. Therefore, when choosing an electric heating wire, it is necessary to consider its working atmosphere, such as carbon atmosphere, sulfur atmosphere, as well as hydrogen and nitrogen atmosphere.
The electric heating wire has anti curing treatment during the production process, but due to various reasons such as transportation and installation, there may be some damage to the electric heating wire before use. At this point, the electric heating wire can be pre oxidized. The equipment installed with the electric heating wire can be powered on in dry air until the temperature reaches 100 degree to 200 degree below the maximum operating temperature, maintained for 5 to 10 hours, and then slowly cooled.
